Heinrich William

OBIT: Quiet «Bill» was a Christian. William «Bill» Heinrich was a joyful, active member of the First Baptist Church of Mobridge. Friends say he smiled so hard at times, you couldn\'t see his eyes. His smile faded for the last time Friday, July 24, 1987, when he died at his home in Mobridge. Through his life, Heinrich sang in the church choir and served as Sunday school treasurer. At the time of his death, he was an Usher and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mobridge First Baptist Church. Heinrich also loved to fish. The first time his friends talked him into ice fishing, about two years ago, he caught a 20 lb. Northern, which he had mounted. But he wasn\'t the type to brag or to tell stories or jokes. He was simply a quiet, Christian man. He was born Nov. 7, 1917. He grew up on his parents\' farm and attended a rural school near Mound City. He married Lydia Holzworth on July 12, 1938. They made their home on a farm north of Jave until 1950, when he quit farming and moved to Lodi, Calif., where he lived and worked. In 1951, they returned to Mobridge and took a job with Davidson Chevrolet. He worked there until 57, when he purchases Bill\'s Standard Service on East Third Avenue. In 1962, he sold the service station and returned to Davidson Chevrolet where he worked until he retired in 1981. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 28, 1987 at the First Baptist Church in Mobridge. The Rev. Terry Hackney conducted the services. Bertha Bischke, LaVern Quaschnik, Ray Quenzer and Mariam Quenzer formed a mixed quartet for the service and sang «In Times Like These» and «Heaven Came Down.» The congregation sang «How Great Thou Art» and «When We All Get to Heaven.» Burial took place at Greenwood Cemetery under the directon of Larson\'s Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Rhiney Heinrich of Stockton, CA, Albert of Minneapolis, MN, and George of Blythe, CA; four sisters, Mrs. Andy (Lydia) Huber of Mound City, Mrs. Freida Sitter of Aberdeen, Mrs. Ervin (Viola) Boschee of Sacramento, CA, and Mrs. Christ (Emma) Naasz of Spokane, WA; a son Willis Heinrich of Pleasanton, CA; a daughter Mrs. Ted (Norlene) Larson of Gillette, Wyo., four granddaughters, Jennifer, Kim, Lonna, and Diana, and four great-grandchildren. Pall bearers were Bob Larson, Don Heinrich, Jake Pfeifle, Mark Holzworth, Bernie Huber, and Collin Brockel. Karl Quenzer was usher.
